I gasp in exhilaration as I soar solo for the first time."

Microlights

Microlight pilots fly in a tricycle pod powered by a propeller, suspended beneath a flexible fabric wing. Like Hang Gliders, Microlights are controlled through weight shift, but they offer greater versatility, allowing pilots to fly higher, faster, and in more varied weather conditions. While the running costs are slightly higher, and the aircraft requires a trailer for transport (unless stored at an airfield), Microlights provide a more robust flying experience compared to other light aviation options.

Hang Gliding

A Hang Glider pilot is suspended in a harness below a rigid wing, typically made of an aluminium frame and covered with synthetic sail cloth. While more substantial in design than a Paraglider, Hang Gliders offer better glide performance and are capable of flying in stronger winds.
